This piece aims to explore how to use KAPTO’s checkmark detection. We provide instructions on detecting a checkmark in KAPTO, including adding an entity, selecting a template, and selecting the target zone. With KAPTO’s checkmark detection, users can extract specific information from scanned documents more efficiently and accurately.
KAPTO’s checkmark detection can identify checkmark regions in scanned documents and determine their status, whether marked or unmarked.
The system detects rectangular regions that may contain checkmarks, and each variable is related to its specific rectangle. Image registration is required for certain use cases. Templates can be added to the system to improve accuracy, but accurate information cannot be obtained if the document is deformed.
Checkmark detection identifies checkmark regions in scanned documents and determines their status (marked/unmarked).
KAPTO uses checkmark detection in various business area documents. For example, insurance claim documents/forms, and international trade documents, where carriers carry importer/exporter's documents which are further digitised using scanners as images or PDF files.
KAPTO helps to perform PDF document scanning and checkbox detection. In other words, the system detects rectangular regions that may contain checkmarks. Each variable is related to its specific rectangle. Image registration is mandatory for certain use cases.
Templates are added to the system; if the document is deformed, accurate information cannot be obtained. After detecting the regions, the image is cropped to recognise the region as a checkmark object.
